This is a long-term, site-based creative endeavor exploring the boundaries between humanity and nature-one that is interwoven with the trajectory of my own life.
Returning to the Western Regions again, after the 2023 Xinjiang project, is not merely about seeking a connection with myself. Nature is no longer simply a source for creation or an interlocutor in dialogue; rather, it compels me to pursue a deeper inquiry into why humans perpetually feel the need to prove their own existence. Seeing beyond the superficial phenomena, I turn back to more fundamental questions: the boundary between nature and humanity, their coexistence and mutral generation.
Heaven and earth have their own order; humans have their own nature and constructions. Ancient perspectives such as "the coexistence of heaven and earth" and "the unity of heaven and humanity" have long shaped and informed my thinking and imagination regarding landscapes and all things. This journey is simply to quietly immerse myself in the vast land and within time-space, to experience the relationship and resonance between the two. All that is recounted through human eyes is humanistic. Humanity is not a concept but life itself-the concrete form of self-realization.
All visual records and thoughts generated during the project will accumulate over time, to be gradually apprehended, and waiting for their presentation in the future.
A new journey begins; we shall meet gradually.
