Jung conducted extensive research on the I Ching and proposed the concept of "Synchronicity," positing a non-causal, meaningful connection between inner psychological states and external events. For him, the Taijitu was the perfect symbol of the "Self." 2. The circular form of the Taijitu symbolizes the wholeness of the "Self," while the interlocking Yin and Yang fish represent the integration of the conscious and the unconscious. Jung regarded the process of individuation as the attainment of this Yin-Yang harmony, a goal that converges with Zhou Dunyi's ideal of cultivation where "the sage establishes them through Centrality, Correctness, Benevolence, and Righteousness," despite their different paths.
