Virtual Exhibition

INKstudio is delighted to present the exhibition "Global Ink, Contemporary Contexts" in Taipei. INKstudio selected seven artists based in various regions across continents, including Western Europe, the United States, and East Asia. Each artist develops a distinct intrepretation of creating contemporary art from the traditional East Asian language of brush and ink. Featured works include the neo-classical landscapes of artist, writer and filmmaker Bingyi (born in Beijing, based in Beijing and Los Angeles), the Buddhist-inspired conceptual art of Korean ink artist JEONG Gwang-hee (born in Korea, based in Gwangju), early landscape album leaves and his signature grid paintings of landscape artist LI Huasheng (born in Yibin , died in Chengdu), the plant-and-ink installation photography of visual artist Jennifer MA Wen (born in Beijing, based in New York), landscape paintings that incorporate his unique burn marks and rubbings of ancient texts of WANG Tiande (born in Shanghai, based in Shanghai), signature "One Hundred Layers of Ink" series and early experimental abstract ink painting from the 80s of visual artist YANG Jiechang (born in Foshan, based in Paris), indexical abstract paintings with ink and acrylic on paper of ZHENG Chongbin (born in Shanghai, based in Shanghai and San Francisco).
