Peng Kanglong possesses an intuitive understanding and a particular preference for the stylistic and spiritual essence of late Ming dynasty painting. The fragmentation, deconstruction, and recombination prompted by the trend of distortion, along with the free appropriation, spontaneous expression, and intensified individuality after the self-discipline of brush and ink, are all insightfully absorbed and transformed by him. From Dong Qichang and Wu Bin to Shi Tao and Kun Can, and from Gong Xian to Huang Binhong, all have become vital points of reference in his artistic journey. ——Deng Feng, curator
